February Newsletter

As we prepare our first newsletter of 2026, we find ourselves standing—much like the winter trees on our cover image—quietly strong, luminous with ice, and rooted in something deeper than the season suggests.

As we prepare our first newsletter of 2026, we find ourselves standing—much like the winter trees on our cover image—quietly strong, luminous with ice, and rooted in something deeper than the season suggests.

Mark Nepo reminds us, “If we fear change, we are blind to the abundance of life.” And this year, more than ever, invites us to practice seeing abundance clearly—honouring what has been planted, tended, and generously shared.

We begin this year with full hearts, holding deep gratitude for Paul E. Dennison, founder of Brain Gym®, whose curiosity, playfulness, and trust in the wisdom of the body continue to ripple through our lives and our work.

Paul reminded us that learning can be joyful, meaningful, and deeply human—and that sometimes, the smallest movements open the biggest doors. His legacy lives on each time we pause, move, connect, and rediscover ease where there was once effort.

On February 17th, we step into the Year of the Fire Horse: rare, spirited, fast-moving, and a little bit wild. A year of bold beginnings, unexpected turns, and invitations to trust our inner compass while keeping both feet well grounded. In Brain Gym® terms, a year that calls us to move, pause, connect, rebalance—and then move again, with intention.

In these pages, we return to our familiar themes of Connecting, Sharing, Learning, and Growing, with a joyful new edition of the Brain Gym France Journal—this time in English too—an invitation to their conference, and a warm reminder to attend our own AGM on March 11th, 2026.

Above all, we offer this newsletter in gratitude—for Paul E. Dennison, whose vision and life’s work gave us Brain Gym®, and for each of you who continues to bring it to life. Through curiosity, laughter, and a deep trust in the body’s wisdom, Paul showed us that learning can be playful, meaningful, and profoundly human.

Now more than ever, it is up to us to carry that spark forward—to share Brain Gym®, to educate, to elevate, and to move through the world with the same openness and joy that Paul embodied. May this fiery year bring courage, clarity, and just enough whimsy to keep us smiling as we grow—together, and always in motion.

You are cordially invited to join us Wednesday March 11th, 2026, for our Annual General Meeting!

2026 ushers in the Year of the Yang Fire Horse, a rare and powerful combination that brings bold energy, passion, and forward momentum. The Horse’s natural spirit of freedom and movement is amplified by the Fire element, inviting us to act with courage, creativity, and clear intention. This is a year that encourages us not only to dream, but to move — to launch new ideas, embrace change, and ride the current of transformation with integrity and heart.

And this is precisely what your devoted Board Members have been doing. With both enthusiasm and thoughtful care, they have been shaping the projects and services that will guide Brain Gym Canada through 2026 and beyond. A key focus of this work has been moving Brain Gym Canada toward affiliateship: strengthening our role as an empowered association, with the capacity to license professionals and distribute our own pedagogical materials in service of our growing community. We look forward to sharing these important developments with you and warmly invite you to join us at our Annual General Meeting Wednesday March 11th, 2026: 5:00pm Mountain, 7:00pm Eastern, 8:00pm Atlantic

Our next Meetup will be on Saturday March 28th, 2026 at 11am Mountain, 1pm Eastern and 2pm Atlantic time.

Brain Gym Canada board member Celine Bellemare will introduce us to the vibrational healing remedy, Sound Essence™.

Sound Essences are vibrational remedies, developed by Evelyn Mulders, that use sound and complementary energies to help balance the body’s energetic system. By restoring healthy vibration where blockages exist, they support self-regulation, wellbeing, and greater alignment in body and life.
As always, no need to sign up, simply use the zoom link below to join us:

Moving with Intention – with Sumita Mendiratta

I am privileged to take this opportunity to share my experience from an interview session on a topic that is very close to my heart. It was a wonderful and meaningful conversation aimed at creating awareness about Brain Gym. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to All Women Entrepreneurship Circuit (AWEC) and its Founder, Lev Calang, a business development and event management professional who is deeply passionate about helping individuals thrive through purpose-driven and impactful initiatives. This interview was conducted with the intention of highlighting local expertise and wellness and was aired on the Local Show on YourTV Kingston on September 9, 2025, in Kingston, Ontario. I had a truly wonderful experience describing the Brain Gym program—moving with intention. During the interview, I spoke about my background in psychology as an RCI-registered psychologist from India, my 20-year association with Brain Gym, and my journey toward becoming a Movement Facilitator. I also demonstrated the PACE movements and explained how each movement emohasizes noticing and supports emotional balance, physical well-being, and overall brain integration.
